At the 2014 IPCPR Trade Show, the CAO Cigars brand under General Cigar Company unveiled the new regular production CAO Colombia. The CAO Colombia becomes the latest cigar to be a part of CAO’s World line – which pays homage to different regions of the world. It becomes the fourth regular production cigar to pay homage to a country – with the other three being the CAO Brazilia, CAO Italia, and the CAO America. Each of those cigars incorporate tobacco from that particular country – and the CAO Colombia is no exception as it features Colombian tobacco in the filler.
This is not to be confused with Serious Cigars’ CAO Escaparte Colombia. That is a shop exclusive by CAO and is a Colombian puro.
The CAO Colombia is going to deliver a lemon sweetness. This sweetness is much more prominent up front, but it dials back in the second half. There are also notes of herbs, grain, natural tobacco, and white pepper. Toward the end, I found a sharpness to the pepper. The strength level is on the lower end of medium. The flavors are medium-bodied but toward the end, it does move into medium to full-bodied.
Overall I nice and budget friendly release by CAO. This is definitely worth a fiver.
