This cigar was assessed in depth on Cigar Coop.
While Pete Johnson did a great job at telling us what was in store for 2014, he did still have some surprises.
In 2013, Tatuaje released the 10th Anniversary Belle Encre as a cigar to commemorate their tenth anniversary. It is based on the Tatuaje Brown Label blend and introduced this new sizes to the blend. The Belle Encre Reserva is a limited edition variant of this – replacing the Habano Ecuador wrapper with Connecticut Broadleaf.
Some of Tatuaje’s Reserva blends have been better than others. In the case of the Belle Encre Reserva, I found this to be a great cigar. It isn’t the most complex, but it is flavorful. It has notes of coffee, mocha, earth, and pepper. I found the flavors to be full-bodied and the strength medium to full.
I really liked the Belle Encre’s shape. The fact this perfecto wasn’t sharply tapered works favorably with this blend. I say its the perfecto that smokes like a parejo.
Overall, worth a box split, but the aging potential is still great on this one.
